I am honored to represent Ward 7 on the State Board of Education. In this role, I look forward to working with you to elevate concerns and solutions to support our schools, students, and educators.

Each month, expect an update that includes what is happening with the board as well as education happenings and highlights in our community.

This week has been a particularly important week for education in our city, as students and educators return to buildings in-person. We wish them a safe return and must continue to be vigilant about health and safety measures. I both am grateful to see educators like my mom receive their first dose of the vaccine this past weekend and worried for everyone returning in-person.

Reopening, response, and recovery during COVID, will continue to be a priority. Please reach out and share your experiences, concerns, and solutions with me. I can be reached at eboni-rose.thompson@dc.gov.
